Anne Hathaway revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen January 24, 2019, that she, the celebrated Julie Andrews, the author and creator of the Meg Cabot, and producer Debra Martin Chase, all ready to make a new sequel. The new script is written and the on screen leads are ready, and in a 2016 interview the director of the previous two films Garry Marshall, He spoke of Disney and him being in discussions of a third film. However, he passed before those talks finished.
