Finally, after two years of waiting, the MCU movie, Black Widow was released. We are finally able to see Natasha Romanoff dealing with many issues of the day, both political and social. The movie begins with Natasha and her “family” placed in Ohio by the Red Room, an organization run by the Russians, to obtain mind control information from SHIELD/Hydra. The “family” is discovered by SHIELD/Hydra and they escape to Cuba where both Natasha and her sister, Yelena, are kidnapped to become Black Widows, controlled in mind and body as assassins and spies.
The sisters are spared, and years later, Natasha finds Yelena in Budapest. They work together, trying to find the Red Room and realize that it is where the Russians are controlling the minds of many young women for trafficking and destruction. All of the young women in the Red Room have been kidnapped or bought from their parents. Also, these young women have been forced to be sterilized, so that they are unable to reproduce. The Red Room is trying to run the world and one man oversees all that goes on there.
I feel that the movie was not released in 2019 as planned, due to the political atmosphere recently. Natasha and her “family” are finally able to escape the Red Room and destroy it along with the man in charge, Draykov, and all of his agents. Natasha was able to free Draykov’s daughter. (Thought to have been killed by Natasha.) Natasha asked her to be forgiven for all that she had gone through.
During the credits, Yelena is at Natasha’s gravesite, and given her next assignment.
