Kevin Smith wears many hats, but mostly a baseball cap, including film maker, comedian, comic book writer, author, youtuber podcaster and actor. He first came in the movie scene with his film Clerks, a buddy comedy about working in a convivence store. He wrote, directed, co-produced, and acted as his original character Silent Bob, who would appear in later movies in the due Jay and Silent Bob. He based this film on his experiences working in the store which the movie takes place, and funded the film with credit cards and his wages.
Since that first film Kevin Smith has both created and acted in many films including Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II, and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.
Since 2011 he has focused mainly on horror films; Red State, Tusk, and Yoga Hosers.
Later this year will be the release of the second sequel to his first movie Clerks III.
Smith also is the host of several shows on his Smodcast Podcast network, which includes Fatman Beyond, Smodcast, and his live show Hollywood Babble-On.
