Monster Rangers Shindig Tucson 2017

We arrived in the late afternoon at Catalina State Park to enjoy the Monster Rangers shindig. The Monster Rangers asked us to join them in their activities while everyone was busy cooking. The shindig included a pot luck dinner and constructing the campfire for later in the evening. Some adults enjoyed mead and sangria, as they ate their meal, all of which looked delicious. The children were very well-behaved keeping busy playing games, assisting in cooking, and building the fire. This shindig gave people the opportunity to visit with extended family and enjoy the park . Even the toddlers were able to engage in many of the activities.

Around 6:30 everyone was called together for dinner. Food and chatter was all about with everyone sharing what they had made with each other. Everything was very festive with a new Monster Ranger Banner was extended across the hearth, and star lights, and streamers in the Ramada .

Following dinner the campfire program began with various songs, games, and recognition. The summoning of Marrow Thatch from the world of Monstru with chants, rhythm sticks, and drumming was the high point of the evening. He brought understanding, wisdom, spirit, and friendship to everybody. His appearance was exciting as he was Baron Davis’ teacher of all things Monster Ranger. Marrow Thatch even spent time answering questions from the young rangers. This campfire program concluded with everyone making Smores to share. Everyone had an extremely enjoyable time.

Monster Rangers is an organization dedicated to the protection of monsters from manlings. The Rangers do this by having missions and activities. Rangers show what they have done by earning spirit badges and attending Monstru Camps.
