Following the discovery of the gates enabling humanity to reach beyond our solar system, there has been a land rush for the planets on the other side. The United Nations is working to investigate and catalog these new planets but some people can’t wait, with their first opportunity to live on actual land in front of them. A group of “belters” humans from stations in the asteroid belt, who became refugees, pushed through the gate in our solar system to be the first to establish on a newly discovered Ilus/New Terra, a planet with a rich vein of lithium a major trading commodity.

Issues arise when scientists from the UN show up with a legal charter for the land on the planet, but find “belters” already set up. The leaders of these colonists, Basia Merton, has had to make decisions between bad choices.

We, The Con Togs, land on Ilus/New terra with the crew of the Rocinante, who have been asked to act as mediator between the UN and the colonists, having to balance, government priority, colonial claims, and the awakening creatures on the planet.

As part of the UN delegation sent to investigate both the claim and make sure human rights are still being observed as Basia Merton is being held in a temporary holding cell for possible murder. Before we could finish our investigation, a bit of civil unrest occurred when a colonist pulled a knife, but was disarmed before anything bad could happen, at least happen due to the unrest.

When smoke started spewing from the planet we were swiftly evacuated.
